6 weeks old today...

I'm 870g's and steadily rising, hopefully! The doctors have added a powder fortifier to Mummy's milk today - by next Monday Daddy won't recognise me, I'll be a mini bodybuilder! No, hopefully not that far fetched, but they do say that there'll be a visible difference over the next couple of days. I do hope so as I'm all skin and bone. For some reason if you look at the photos of me from ages ago and those over the last few days, I'm all skin... where's my flab gone? I don't think I had any really - but I want some.

I've had a very good day today. I've been breathing in air for quite a lot of it. When Mummy and Grandma Pat visited I was exceptionally good - Grandma Pat was lovely to me. She's going back to France tomorrow (Tuesday). I'll miss not seeing her peering down at me through my roof, she always smiled at me. I'm going to let her know exactly what's going on so that she doesn't miss me so much over the next 6-7 weeks until her next visit. Thank you for coming to see me as often as you could, I loved every minute.

Mummy's going to read me some stories tomorrow, it's only her coming to see me. Great Aunty Jenny has given me a book about a monkey, I think that she thinks I'll be a cheeky monkey. There's a cheeky monkey sitting at the end of my bed - his name's Champ.

Mummy has spoken to Daddy today. He sends me his love and says that he misses me and that he hopes to see that I've grown when he sees me on Monday. They put a nappy on me today the size of a duvet. I must admit that it did double up well as a blanket - they didn't have any of my normal size until this afternoon, thank goodness Mummy was there to change it. I look tiny in comparison - I suppose I am really.

I hope that Daddy's car is doing OK in France and that he's not drinking too much beer (Mummy told me to say that, sorry Daddy). He's got lots of early mornings and late nights ahead of him. I'll do some sleeping for you! I'm looking forward to tomorrow. I'm going to concentrate all my efforts on breathing air and putting on the grams, I want to be over a kilo by the time Daddy comes home, I need to grow into my skin - do I look like an alien?

Night night, don't let the bed bugs bite xxx

  4. Hi Oscar,
It's so lovely to see those gorgeous eyes open. You're doing really well. Just wanted to say that I was at my Pilates class last night (a class Mummy used to go to before she was carrying you) and all these ladies were asking me all about you and Mummy and said they can't wait for Mummy to come and show you off to the class so keep up the good work. Look forward to seeing you soon. Love Allison (Ian sends his love too!)

  5. Hello my little sweetheart. I am back home now in France and missing you so much already, how will I ever get through the next 6/7 weeks without being with you. You are my brave little soldier and I am very proud of you. I will read your blog every morning after mummy has done the updates so I will know what you have been upto and how much weight you have been gaining, well done my darling and keep up the good work. Give mummy and daddy my love also. I love you always.
