A new bedroom...

Last night they changed my incubator. I'm not in a high dependency one any more, my new one is more see through and has no lifting roof or built-in weighing machine. This might seem less high tech, but is better for me as a sign that I'm getting better (remember though that things can turn nasty at any moment).

I put on the 28g's that I lost yesterday, so I'm back up to 870g's, what a podge!

Mummy was chatting to one of the nurses who said that they might try something tomorrow... they might see how I get on with breathing on my own - TOTALLY... scary stuff! Only for a short time, perhaps 10 minutes per hour or for just half an hour in total... Mummy will know more tomorrow - but that shows what a good boy I've been. Today I've been down to 21% quite a lot and the pressure has been down to about 3 - which you could say is 1 or 2 because of what is lost on the way down to my lungs... I'll let you know what they do...

Other than this I've been pretty fab... I've done poos and wees, I've opened my eyes to have a look around and I've done lots of sleep too. I have to keep my strength up. Mummy cuddled me again and then I slept some more - I like this routine!

  1. Oh my darling Oscar. A new bedroom, cuddles from mummy, poos and wees and a little more weight, this is good stuff. I hope all goes well when you try breathing on your own, just relax and take nice deep breaths that should do the trick. Well done I am very proud of you, get plenty of sleep as well as all this activity will make you tired, and as you say you need to keep your strengh up. I love you so much sweetheart.
