Bug... ...urrrr!

Deary me, I've been a bit ill over the last couple of days. I caught a tummy bug from my girlfriend... we only held hands! I'm feeling a bit better now though after getting lots of sleep... my appetite will hopefully return soon, I don't want to waste away!

There's been a few things going on this week, I've seen lots of family and friends. Mummy took me on an epic walk up to the local garden centre shop - about 2 miles away. She had lunch with her friends and I dined with mine, then we walked all the way back again... down the BIG hill that we'd climbed up - correction, that Mummy had climbed up. We saw some little piggies on the way - they were naughty, they'd dug a hole under their fence and were trotting all over the road and the grass verge, I think their Mummy was snorting at them to behave.

I love family dinners. On Saturday we went to Gt Aunty Janices and saw everyone. I get soooo much attention AND got some trifle, yep, fully loaded custard and cream, I couldn't get enough!

Sunday was a favourite day. For the very first time since we've all been out of hospital, Harriet and Gene's Mummy and Daddy, me and mine, got together and had a lovely lunch at our local pub. We spent all day together (this is when I caught that bug... urrr... from Harriet - but I'm sure she didn't mean to give it to me). We chatted and played and were very well behaved all day. Then I had a bath and went to bed - exhausted! Look at Gene on his stripey blanket, he's my best mate... and Harriet and I sat on my Mummy's knee.

I saw the health visitor last week, she was checking my development. You see, I'm now 9 1/2 months old, but should only be 6 months old... I'm doing all the right physical things that I should be for 6 months, in fact I'm a bit stronger than a lot of babies that were born at the right time. I'm doing well with my observation and handling. I'm also doing well with speech - I'm not saying supacalafradalisticexpialidoshus yet but I'm doing a few la's and ba's! I'm 15lbs 12ozs or was then anyway, am probably about the same now due to being poorly. What else... well I'm very good at holding my own weight when standing up and can nearly sit up... I like riding my bike the most!

This week I'll be helping Mummy and Daddy with our other house, trying to get it finished for the summer - June 19th - Mummy's birthday! I'm also keeping an eye on my birthday plans - I'll be a bit fat '1' on April 30th! Grandpa Barry and Grannie Annie should be visiting this weekend, but I shouldn't get my hopes up just incase they can't. I'll be going on a long walk again too and will be doing lots of sit ups and bounces to get that 6-pack sorted out! Daddy's got a 4-pack, he keeps his in the fridge!

Breadsticks and ricecakes...

...are yummy. I can hold one really well and can coordinate it to my mouth and chew chew chew! Ricecakes get stuck everywhere though, I save them under my chin so I can have a snack. Breadsticks are great to crunch up and make soggy!

I've been doing some more bouncing this week. Every day I get to bounce, usually when my breakfast's got down and when Mummy's finishing her morning cup of strong coffee that sets her up for the day. Look at how much fun I have...

I've seen lots of family over this past week, Great Grandma's always a fave as she just thinks I'm wonderful and it's still a miracle of nature/science that I'm here to tell the tale - when I can speak and if I can remember!

Daddy's been busy doing some DIY fixing a door in our little house that goes into the garage... Mummy's looking forward to locking him in there when he's naughty! You should have seen the mess he made when he did it - Mummy wasn't happy and could have locked him in there and thrown away the key!

I've seen buddy Gene and girlfriend Harriet this week. We're all getting on so well, we chatted about the weather getting warmer and being able to play in the sunshine whilst our Mummies chatter and chatter and chatter... and chatter... and chatter - we'll get up to all sorts of mischief! Harriet's probably 19lbs by now, Gene's 13lbs and has recovered well from his second hernia operation. His Daddy had to see him get gassed out... that must have been freaky deaky!

My hair has started to grow, I think it's going to be blonde. Mummy says that if I were a girl that she'd make my hair look pretty... but I hope she just leaves it alone so that it can grow to be a shaggy mop. I've got one hair that's 2 inches long!

I'm getting quite adventurous, this morning I knocked over the kettle (just as well there was only cold water in it!), I nearly knocked over the coffee pot and I put my hand NEARLY in the toaster and dragged it closer to me... Mummy captured the toaster incident and when Daddy saw it he got really miffed with Mummy as he said that I could have toasted my hand - Mummy disagrees and says that she's a good Mummy. I agree with Mummy, obviously - she's the one that makes me yummy dinners!

I'm seeing the health visitor tomorrow so I'll know how much weight I've put on and whether I'm doing OK at this learning stuff. I'm only supposed to be 5 1/2 months so we'll see whether I'm spot on with development or whether I'm a bit forward - I could be a right brain box as I've had stimulae since April rather than August - I'll keep you posted, I'm off to do some algebra!
