My bilirubin count was a little high this evening, so they put me on this glowing pad... better than the photo therapy light, a bit surreal though... They didn't have me on it for long as my bili level came down again - up down up down that's all I ever do at the moment.
I've been generally more settled today. My blood gases are all very good, I'm keeping my oxygen saturation level, my blood pressure is a bit on the high side, but when Mummy left me tonight it had gone down from 76 to 62... I started 0.5ml/hr of milk again, yum... we'll have to wait and see whether my body likes it or whether it'll give it a bit of a problem. I'm hoping that it's all OK and that I can go to the loo again as normal and can gain lots of proper weight, I want to be 2lbs by the end of the week!The doctors took Mummy into a side room today. They wanted to have a 'chat'... Mummy gets all worried and concerned and wants Daddy around, but there was nothing for her to worry about really... One of the nurses last night accidentally gave me more of a drug than was prescribed - quite a lot more, but the doctors aren't worried. It has made me wee wee like never before, which has kind of done me a favour... As I've weed sooooo much, it's cleared the extra bit of fluid in my lungs - hoorah! I've been breathing air for most of the day - which is great!
Mummy's just left me all cosy and warm. She washed my body and changed my nappy, she wiped my mouth too, so I had a quick suck of the gauze and the sterile water which was refreshing. She put me on my side and put my hands up to my face and covered me with a blanket so I now feel safe, warm, secure and loved. She's been stroking my back all evening and that was lovely too.
I'm awake right now but plan to go to sleep soon. I'll dream sweet dreams of pink ice creams and Mummy and Daddy cuddling me tomorrow. I can't wait...
Oscar..........You have had a really positive couple of days, well done you! You do look a bit like you are in a 'glow' bag but as long as it's making you better it doesn't matter. We are all hoping to hear of your move to the room next door!!! Charlie was sad today as half term is over, you'll see when you are at school the holidays are FAB. Love, Annabel and Tosca xxx

ReplyDeleteHi Oscar, Georgie here again, you've got so many different blankets, I like seeing which one you have on each day. I hope you've seen your Daddy today, it's nice when they are around isn't it, my Daddy buys me chocolate and things Mummy tells him off if he buys too much I think it's funny I know just how to play it, I'll teach you one day if you'd like. Me, Mummy and Daddy are really happy your being a good boy we read about you every morning. I say "Can we look at Oscar in the blog?" and Mummy reads to me.
