Little Pirate

That's what I am today, a little pirate. I've been cosy again in my stripy sleep suit, I've slept quite soundly... Mummy cuddled me three times today, the first two times for about 5 minutes as the doctors did their rounds and she had to leave and the third time for not much longer as I got a bit desatty and had to go back in my incubator.

Mummy did all of my cares and gave me my medication too, she's a good Mummy (so far). In fact, she's that good, she told the nurse that she thought that I was a bit warm... they took my temperature this evening and it was 39 degrees C... hmmm. They've given me some paracetamol and it's now 37.4 which is good. They've undressed me (I think that I got a bit too cosy) and they've put a cannula in me ready to give me antibiotics if they need to. They've also taken some blood, which will give them the answer to whether they need to give me any antibiotics or not. I don't know what's wrong with me, neither to the doctors yet, Mummy and Daddy will know more tomorrow morning. The ironic thing is that the consultant on the rounds this morning just prescribed another few weeks in hospital as I was doing so well...!

Thinking about it though Daddy and Mummy thought that I was a bit 'relaxed' yesterday evening when they did my cares when Great Aunty Vally was there. I have been very good though with my low requirement of oxygen, which still remains low at around 28% and I handled very well when cares were done; usually my oxygen requirement goes up for a bit, but it stayed the same and afterwards came down again... so there's nothing to worry about there then... My weight has gone up to 1250g's,which is 2lbs 12 and a bit oz's! They've kept my milk going at 10ml's per hour... Mummy has asked if they'll keep it going if I'm poorly, but all seems OK at the moment.

I'll keep you all posted, there's nothing to worry about at the mo because we don't know anything yet - that's what Daddy and Mummy say anyway, and I believe them... So, night night sleep tight.
