Today I got hot...

...so I'm going to be put in a cot! I will no longer be enclosed in a plastic box with port holes. Mummy and Daddy won't seen me until tomorrow, but Mummy has just chatted to my nurse who is going to do my cares, put me in a baby grow and put me in my big boy cot! Mummy and Daddy are suitably impressed and I must say that I'm quite proud of myself too!

How it all began was that last night I was moved from Room 4 into Room 1. I guess that I graduated again as they needed my space in Room 4 as I am better than the person who's filled it. In Room 1 there are four of us all in incubators. This makes it extremely hot, so I got hot. Daddy and Mummy told my day nurse that I looked hot, so my temperature was taken and I was 37.4. After an hour I was the same so they kept my port holes open. My temperature's fine now but of course I don't need to be kept warm by an incubator, just my lovely baby grows.

Great Uncle Robin and Great Aunty Chris saw me this morning. I think they think I'm super-duper. I've grown such a lot since they saw me last. They talked to me and touched me and it was ever so nice. They think that I've got lovely big eyes and they say me suck a dummy too, they feel sorry for Mummy... why's that then?

This afternoon I saw Grandad Martin, Grandma Felicity and Cousin Maxi. I gave Grandma a sneaky peek, so she saw my eyes - I was tired again from the morning... Cousin Maxi was lovely, she stroked me ever so gently and she stood there all quietly just stroking me, that was nice, she has soft hands. She even made Grandad touch me, that was special.

Tomorrow I'll make sure that there's some piccies of me in my new bed, I'm so excited... This is me when I was 30 minutes old... I'm now 11 weeks old... that's progress...

  1. A cot, a big boys cot, this is very good news indeed just 'stay cool' you are moving towards the day when you will be home with mummy and daddy. I was so pleased for Grandma F now that she has seen you with your eyes open. Love you loads and loads.

  2. Hi Oscar,

Room 1 sounds special - I never got to go in there. It must be just for the boys! I'm very jealous about your cot - I can't wait to be in one myself. Come on over to Special Care soon.

  6. We were so thrilled to see you Oscar on Sunday and indeed honoured that you were wide awake and having a good look around. Beautiful eyes and beautiful everything else too - wow. Robin wants to take you to see steam engines when you get to be a big boy. You will have lots of engines to learn about - fast ones with your Daddy and slow or still ones with Robin. Lots of reason to grow big and strong
    much love Robin and Chris
