Yep, that's right... I'm breathing all for myself with no ventilation tube in my mouth. Every in and out is me doing it! I've been doing it since 1pm this avo. The 'problem' now is that you can't see my face and the 'hat' thing is covering my eyes.
They've taken me off of the morphine too, they'll be lasting bits of it in my system for a couple of days, but I can't be on morphine and breathe for myself as I wouldn't do as well (although with it still in my system at the moment I'm doing really well so the nurses say).

I've no trouble in the number 2 department either now... Mummy changed my nappy and she didn't realise that I just 'had to go' at that time and I didn't have any nappy on - they had to change my blanket - oops! However I've still got a big tummy and they're treating me for it; hopefully it'll go down in the next couple of days and I'll be infection free.
I'll let you know how I get on a bit more tomorrow - I must concentrate on my breathing...

Dear Oscar
ReplyDeleteWonderful news, you must be really glad that awful respirator has taken a back seat. We've just seen a lovely picture of you and Grandma Pat, but you are the star of the show. Keep up the good work Oscar, we love you.

Well done Oscar.I am coming down to see your Grandma and Great Grandma tomorrow. I sure they will tell me all about you and how well you are doing. Your Grandma was very excited when you started breathing for yourself.
