What a busy day! This morning Mummy and Daddy got up reeeaaalllly early so that they could join me for my 'last supper' at 8am (this means that they left home at just before 7am). I had my breakfast and then trundled in my new carry cot to the plastic surgery department about my hand... which is OK. I then came back again and waited until the surgeons requested my visit to theatre. Mummy said that instead of me going to see a show, that I was the star of the show.

Mummy came with me and gave me a kiss goodbye when she left me in the more than capable hands of the anaesthetist. And as if by magic, a while later I ended up back in the hot room on B-side to get over my operation and begin feeling normal again.

I don't remember anything to do with the operation, but I do remember the way there and how it felt a bit scary. On the way back I was still a bit zonked out and only started to come round in the hot room when I began to feel my tummy grumble. I wasn't allowed to eat anything until 5pm in case I was a bit sick. But as soon as it was time, I wolfed a whole bottle of yummy milk down into my tummy which made me settle and go back to sleep again. I do still feel a bit uncomfortable, but a drop of the pink stuff will help (Calpol)!.

I'm back on A-side now with my mate Gene (who had his first bath today). I'm going to get a good nights sleep... for another big day tomorrow when I go and stay in another different room - it's called a flat; I'm going to stay there with Mummy and Daddy, that'll be fun, I'll see how long I can keep them up in the middle of the night!
Hi Oscar,
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the flat - it's a bit grim really - hardly the Ritz, but you'll be ok - you'll be able to breastfeed with mummy as much as you like - even in the middle of the night! And then it's the short drive to freedom in Long Compton. How exciting - and then we can get our mummies together, so we can meet up. Hooray.
